In celebration of international Terra Madre Day, please join us at our next potluck on Thursday December 11th!
The bi-annual Terra Madre event in Italy was created to celebrate the dance between the importance of local food systems and recognition of how globally connected foodways are and how important it is to share knowledge, best practices and support amongst producers, educators and activists.
In a time where globalization and mass food production make it easy to disconnect from the land around us, we challenge our potluck attendees this month to tune into our local surroundings.
Please bring a dish that highlights an ingredient native to the Bay area, or maybe something you or a neighbor grew. By showcasing the harvest of our lovely and rich Bay Area, we hope to reconnect to the physical land and celebrate with each other during this season of gratitude and harmony.
We’ll have a few guests on hand that have had the opportunity to travel to Turin for Slow Food International’s Terra Madre or Sacramento for this year’s Terra Madre Americas.
