February 1st, 2026: Annual Community Gathering
Thank you for joining us at our Annual Community Gathering on Sunday, February 1st from 4:00–7:00pm, at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (1924 Cedar Street, Berkeley).
It was a chance to come together as a community, connect & reconnect, reflect, suggest and plan for the future! (And eat some delicious things, too!)
We shared highlights from last year, introduced our new leadership team, and created space to hear from you. We were eager to hear what was exciting and concerning you about our local food system, and got feedback for where you'd like to see Slow Food East Bay focus next, including who we should be championing and partnering with for future programs and campaigns. And as usual, there were also opportunities to learn about volunteering and other ways to get involved.
We gathered potluck-style, so guests brought a dish to share if they were able, homemade or purchased from a local producer, sweet or savory, simple or seasonal.
The event was donation-based with a suggested $5 contribution, and all funds collected that evening were donated to an on-the-ground organization doing work in the food system. We voted as a crowd that evening and announced the beneficiary before we broke for dessert.
