August 11, 2026: SFEB Potluck: Garden Party!

We celebrated the long and abundant days of August and summer gardens with a Slow Food Garden Party at Bancroft Community Garden!
For potluck contributions, we went super seasonal and fresh in honor of the edible garden that we dined in. Attendees sourced from their own gardens, while some stopped by one of the hugely abundant farmers markets happening nearly every day of the week around the region (look into Edible East Bay’s site for where to find them and other details!).
It was a beautiful evening in the garden as we feasted on beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, delicious seasonal drinks and polished it off with tahini bars and mini pavlovas, tucked under the trees while the community gardeners puttered through the plots. What a dream!
Huge thanks to those at the garden (especially super-volunteer Steve) for hosting us — if you’re interested in getting involved or even just wandering among the tomato vines, you can visit every day between 11am and 8pm.
