June 11th, 2026: SFEB Potluck: Spicing It Up!
Sign up: https://forms.gle/5ZXA9BdkdnMD8bFU9
Date: Thursday June 11
Time: 6:00 - 8:00pm
Location: West Berkeley backyard (address to be shared upon RSVP)
Join us this month to talk about SPICES. Where to buy? How to store? And what to do with all these fabulous things? Two of our SFEB leaders, Chef Rosemary Carter and Aditya Palacharla, will share their hints and tips on purchasing and keeping spices fresh and aromatic in your pantry. And they’ll dive into all the world’s cuisines and ways to start to explore things like Kampot Pepper and Fennel Pollen and Garam Masala. And we can’t wait to hear about YOUR spicey experiences - from your heritage to your kitchen explorations.
For your potluck contribution, we’re inviting you to turn up the spice! Play with something in your pantry that you’ve not had a chance to use….. Maybe Sumac? Or Berbere? Cardamom, perhaps? Have fun!
Please invite friends who may have never heard of Slow Food before, we'd love to meet them!
Confirmations will be sent out three days before the gathering and more details about location and dish preparations will be included.
NOTE: We will be outdoors, so please plan for the normal evening Bay area temps.
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 36 hours in advance of the gathering so we have time to find someone to take your place. This is a small event (20 people!) with limited seats, so every single one of you counts! (Of course, if you have an exposure to Covid or aren't feeling well, last minute cancellations are absolutely appropriate.)
